Volvo Construction Equipment has started a Fuel Efficiency Guarantee program that is being offered on the company’slarge wheel loaders through Dec. 31, 2010.

Based on fuel consumption reports, Volvo Construction Equipment will evaluate the fuel efficiency and share the difference in fuel cost with the equipment owner if the machine does not meet the individual model’s rated fuel efficiency levels.

If monitoring determines that machines are under-performing in field use, Volvo and its dealer network will provide assistance to review specific end-user applications/operations.

Qualifying Volvo wheel loaders come standard with a three-year advanced-level CareTrack telematics activation, valued at $7,000.

At the time a Volvo wheel loader is registered for the fuel efficiency program, actual fuel efficiency data will be measured through Volvo CareTrack. The CareTrack system can be used to manage a machine’s productivity and maximize a machine’s availability for work.

Using GPRS (mobile network) or satellite technology to send information, data is available securely and instantaneously online. Fault reporting, activity warnings and remote diagnostic feedback can help identify problems quicker for faster resolution. Machine operation and deployment can be optimized via functions that monitor fuel consumption, location, hours of operation, speed and approaching service intervals.

In order to optimize the performance of the Volvo wheel loaders and to ensure optimal efficiency, Volvo also highly recommends enrollment in a Customer Support Agreement with the local dealer. Customers can increase the free CareTrack subscription to five years with a Blue, Silver or Gold Customer Support Agreement through their local Volvo Construction Equipment dealer.

The fuel efficiency guarantee program is available for the following Volvo wheel loader models: L350F, L220F, L180F and L150F.
