Racine Federated Inc. (RFI) has acquired the Screed King product line from Tamarack Industries of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The acquisition complements and expands Racine Federated’s broad line of Wyco internal concrete vibration products, which includes hand-held electric and portable gas powered vibrators, as well as hydraulic vibrators for paving machines.
Announcement of the acquisition was made jointly by David M. Perkins, president of Racine Federated, Inc. and Bruce Klassen, president of Tamarack Industries.
“Tamarack Industries is the leading manufacturer of powered screeds for concrete construction industry,” Perkins said in a press release. “Its Screed King product line has long been recognized as the industry’s leading power screed. We are very excited about the growth opportunities and synergies this creates for our Wyco Tool line.”
Added Klassen” “We’ve known Wyco and Racine Federated for well over a decade, literally since our very early days making the Screed King. This is a perfect transition for the Screed King Product line as we’re reinventing Tamarack Industries. We are aggressively expanding our Heat-King product offering into the construction industry as well as introducing heating products in new markets Tamarack and RFI have worked together on this project for just a short time, and I am pleased to see our two companies coming to agreement so quickly.”
Capitalizing on RFI’s recognized brand strengths, the acquired Screed King product line will be marketed under the Wyco Screed King and Wyco Magflo names. The products will be manufactured at RFI’s plant in Racine, Wis. and will be distributed by an expanded network of distributors.
“We’ve looked for synergistic product lines for Wyco for some time, and the addition of Screed King means that Wyco has the top products for concrete consolidation and power screeding. The addition of Screed King will enhance Wyco’s presence and brand recognition in the construction markets,” said Tom Nelson, Vice President of Racine Federated, Inc.
The Wyco Screed King, Wyco Magflo will join the full line of Wyco concrete construction products at the Racine Federated exhibit at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2011, scheduled March 22-26 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (Booth S-9311).
In addition to the Wyco construction tool product line, Racine Federated is comprised of six flow measurement divisions. RFI’s Flow Meter Group serves the pulp & paper, chemical & petroleum processing, water & waste treatment, general industrial, automotive production, food & beverage, petroleum production, semiconductor capital equipment and fluid power markets.
