Newmont Mining Company names Metso as supplier of the year

Metso Mining and Construction has been named Newmont Mining Corporation’s 2012 Global Supplier of the Year for its delivery of high quality products and services and demonstrated commitment to Newmont’s global projects and operations.
“The team at Metso Mining and Construction exhibits the values that are important to Newmont,” said Gerry Gluscic, who oversees Newmont’s global supply management organization as the company’s Vice President and Chief Information Officer. ”Their attention to our needs, transparency and ability to integrate into our business has helped Newmont achieve our business goals.”

This was made possible by the good work done by all of us at Metso and Newmont,” says Donald Gaughenbaugh, president, Mineral Processing Solutions business line, Mining and Construction, Metso, in a press release. “Both companies have accepted new ways of working to enhance our relationship. We are very proud to receive this recognition from Newmont.”
Newmont’s supplier awards program recognizes top vendors at its annual Supplier Summit. Nominees are evaluated on their contributions toward creating operating efficiencies, developing strong relationships and embracing Newmont’s values in worker safety, environmental protection and social responsibility.
Metso Mining and Construction supplies Newmont with process equipment, including mills and crushers as well as engineering services and optimization services. Metso has been part of Newmont’s global alliance of suppliers since 2008.
