Altas Copco Construction Mining Technique says its new extreme-duty (XD) pedestal boom systems are the only ones on the market specifically designed for secondary rock breaking in mines and open pits. The boom systems are designed for use at grizzly stations in underground mines and at gyratory crushers in open pits. Key components — the pedestal boom’s flexi-base, slew mechanism, cylinders, and pin-locking system — are rugged enough to withstand the rigors of a harsh rock-breaking environment.
