JCB adds two Loadall models: compact and high capacity
May 03, 2010 |
At Bauma 2010 in Munich, Germany, JCB announced that it will add the compact 527-58 Loadall, and the high-capacity 550-80 Loadall, to its telescopic handler range at Bauma.
The 527-58 – Compact Performance
As the most compact Loadall in the side-engine range, the 527-58 is just 6-feet, 6-inches wide and 6-feet, 6-inches high, (dependant on cab and wheel and tire combinations), which allows access to buildings, underground parking garages and other restricted work areas.
The machine has a maximum lifting capacity of 6,000 pounds, with a lift height of more than 19 feet. With nearly 10 feet of forward reach, the 527-58 can still handle a useful 2750 lbs meaning the machine offers performance you would expect from a larger telescopic handler in previously inaccessible areas.
Powered by either the 85hp (63 kW) or 100hp (74 kW) JCB Dieselmax engine, the Loadall drives through a highly efficient hydrostatic transmission. This provides excellent control, high tractive effort and a travel speeds between 15 and 25 mph, dependant on tire and transmission combinations.
By utilizing a JCB designed and built engine, axles, cab, hydraulics, mainframe and boom, the company can ensure perfect integration of components ensuring reliability and durability throughout the life of the machine.
The radiator, engine and driveline are easy to access for daily checks and scheduled maintenance. Though externally compact, the machine benefits from generous steering lock angles, optimum wheelbase, multimode steering and excellent visibility providing superb maneuverability on restricted sites, the manufacturer claims.
The 527-58 also benefits from a full size Loadall cab with a recessed door handle and hinges to achieve the narrowest dimensions. Riding on 18-inch tires, the cab is mounted very low on the mainframe for a maximum overhead clearance of just 6 feet, 5 inches. The hydraulics deliver up to 33 gal/min of flow, enough to power a variety of attachments.
