Bobcat Offers Angle Blade Option on 335, 430 Compact Excavators

Compact excavator operators who want to backfill and grade faster and more precisely can now do so with the hydraulically activated angle blade option from Bobcat Company.

The new Bobcat® angle blade is being offered as a factory-installed option on the Bobcat 335 compact excavator and the conventional-drive 430 compact excavator.

The option allows operators to hydraulically angle the blade +/- 25 degrees, thus creating a four-way blade with up, down, right angle and left angle movement. By angling the blade, operators can push material to one side of the machine without leaving dirt trails along the blade™s sides when grading and backfilling. This also enables them to complete a job in less time and often with fewer motions and passes.

Bobcat representatives say the compact excavator angle blade option will be especially beneficial to contractors in the landscaping, construction and utility markets who perform rough and final grading and backfilling of excavations and swales.

The 70-inch blade features a replaceable and reversible bolt-on cutting edge for extended service life. Its industry-unique dual blade cylinders provide superior cylinder protection and prevent build-up of material on the blade structure, resulting in less cleanup and downtime.

Operation is made easy with a single joystick. Without moving their hand from the blade lever, operators can control the blade™s up, down, left angle and right angle movements as well as two-speed travel. Other features include blade float, which minimizes the amount of input required from the operator, and an integrated center indicator that helps operators position the blade straight.

Fifty years ago, Bobcat Company unleashed a way to work better, smarter, faster. During 2008, the company is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Bobcat compact equipment, which began with the Melroe Self-Propelled Loader ” a three-wheeled front-end loader ” in 1958. That machine evolved into the Bobcat skid-steer loader and spawned the worldwide compact equipment industry. Today, Bobcat continues to lead the world in the design, manufacture and distribution of compact equipment.
