ACPA launches concrete safety, stringless paving web-based courses

The American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) has launched two web-based instructional modules about stringless paving and safety on concrete pavement construction sites.
The approximately 90-minute courses, titled “Proper use of stringless paving technology” and “Safety on concrete pavement construction sites,” provide professional training free of cost to professionals involved in highway and heavy construction, rehabilitation and preservation.
The courses feature illustrated presentations and course instructions by professional civil engineers; interviews with contractor personnel; and videos, photographs and animations to illustrate process steps or actions related to the subject matter.
Each course course consists of seven sections. At the end of each section participants must complete “hurdle tests” multiple choice tests or true/false tests before moving on to the next section.
An optional “evidence of learning” exam is also available at the end of each course and will offer an automatically-generated certificate for company compliance requirements and/or 1.5 professional development hours (PDHs) per course, where allowable by local licensing organizations.
The courses are sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and are presented by by Gerald F. Voigt, P.E., ACPA President & CEO; Leif Wathne, P.E., ACPA Vice President of Highways and Federal Affairs; and Robert Rodden, P.E., ACPA Director – Technical Service & Product Development.
To register for either course at no cost, visit acpa.scholarlab.com, register for one or both of the courses, and enter coupon code pavement1 (pavement and the number one).
