Volvo CE offers Road Institute courses

Volvo Construction Equipment is offering courses during the 2012-2013 Road Institute. The course curriculum offers two- to five-day sessions beginning in October and continuing through May 2013, with classes held at two training facilities in North America. These facilities are located in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, and Phoenix, Arizona.
Road Institute focuses on the hot-mix asphalt (HMA) and warm-mix asphalt (WMA) paving industry. The curriculum is designed for operators, crew and industry personnel, including state DOT administrators and asphalt production professionals.
Volvo CE offers courses in paver and compactor operation and maintenance, applications, automatic grade and slope control systems, screed operation and soil compaction application.
Courses are structured to provide classroom and hands-on practical training. Topics in each session range from daily and weekly maintenance to the operation and application of asphalt paving. As part of each course curriculum, a safety focus is included.
Class sizes are limited. Tuition is $750 per student per three- to five-day course or $500 per student per two-day seminar. For more information or to register, visit roadinstitute.com.

National Demolition Association’s New England Regional Demolition Training Session

National Demolition Association is bringing demolition industry health and safety training directly to New England construction professionals Oct. 26-27 with its Regional Demolition Training Session scheduled at the Sheraton Needham Hotel, located in the Boston suburb of Needham, Mass.
Other program offerings include Industrial Hygiene 101 for the demolition industry and PCBs in caulk.
This is the first time the National Demolition Association has brought its Regional Demolition Training Session to the Boston area. It has provided safety training programs to construction and demolition professionals since instituting the first Demolition Safety Summit in 1994. The Association is recognized as the worldwide authority on demolition industry safe work practices, according to Association executives.
